1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Community Heros ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

Community Heros is a platform that connects community groups with supporters to fund and execute environmental cleanup projects. We provide tools for project creation, team management, donation processing, and evidence verification.

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• One person may not maintain multiple accounts

Account Responsibilities

• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are liable for all activities under your account
• Provide truthful information in your profile and projects

4. Project Guidelines

Eligible Projects

• Must focus on environmental cleanup or improvement
• Must be legal and comply with local regulations
• Must have clear, achievable goals
• Must provide accurate location and description

Prohibited Projects

• Projects on private property without permission
• Projects that may cause environmental harm
• Projects involving hazardous materials
• Projects that violate local laws or regulations
• Fraudulent or misleading project descriptions

5. Donations and Payments

Donation Process

• All donations are processed through Stripe
• Donations are held in escrow until project completion
• Processing fees may apply to donations
• All donations are final and completely non-refundable
• Donations are contributions to environmental causes, not purchases

Fund Distribution

• Funds are released only after project verification by moderators
• Funds are distributed to the project team's account balance
• Teams are responsible for their own tax obligations
• Team members can withdraw funds to their bank accounts

Failed or Cancelled Projects

• If a project is cancelled or fails moderation review, funds remain in escrow
• These funds are redistributed to other active environmental projects
• No refunds are provided - funds continue to support environmental causes
• Donors will be notified of fund redistribution

6. Evidence and Verification

Project completion requires:

• At least one photo showing the completed work and environmental impact
• At least one video documenting the cleanup process or results
• Written completion summary describing the work accomplished
• Review and approval by community moderators
• All evidence must be authentic, unaltered, and taken during the project

Moderation Process

• Community moderators review all completion submissions
• Moderators verify evidence authenticity and environmental impact
• Projects may be rejected if evidence is insufficient or unclear
• Rejected projects can resubmit with improved evidence
• Moderator decisions are final but can be appealed through support

7. User Conduct

Users agree not to:

• Use the platform for illegal activities
• Submit false or misleading information
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Upload malicious software or harmful content
• Attempt to circumvent security measures
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Spam or send unsolicited communications

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create, but grant Community Heros a license to use, display, and distribute your content on the platform. The Community Heros platform, including its design, features, and code, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the platform, to understand our practices.

10. Disclaimers

• The platform is provided "as is" without warranties
• We do not guarantee project success or completion
• Users participate in projects at their own risk
• We are not responsible for disputes between users
• We do not verify the accuracy of all user-generated content

11. Limitation of Liability

Community Heros shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the platform.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the platform immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes. Your continued use of the platform after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
